The Orange County Department on Aging manages four senior centers in the area, and provides programming at two community centers:

Services

The Orange County Department on Aging offers a variety of services, including:

• Daily noon meals furnished by JOCCA (Joint Orange-Chatham Community Action) at the Carrboro, Hillsborough, Caldwell Street, Efland, and Cedar Grove sites; and on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Galleria.

• Information and referral on such subjects such as: Medicare, Social Security, medical claims and insurance. Referrals to specializing groups and agencies.

• Social Workers help caregivers, including support groups, and provide assessments and case management.

• Community volunteer service opportunities through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) for people age 55+.
