I moved to North Carolina in 1981, straight out of college, and have lived happily in the Triangle area ever since, first in Durham, then Raleigh and now, for the past 13 years, in Chapel Hill. I started out as a writer and doggedly tried to make a go of that. But after a decade of tantalizingly marginal success I started to realize that there was probably a better way to make a living. Still, it wasn't until I began work as a realtor five years ago that I knew I had found my calling. I love the business! There's a story in every real estate transaction and I have been privileged to be part of that story with each and every client who has come my way.

I'm not afraid to roll up my sleeves and get involved in every aspect of a move. Not just the expected tasks of a realtor--writing up an offer, negotiating a fair price, lining up inspectors, recommending handymen, painters and other contractors--but literally rolling up my sleeves and getting to work, as I did this summer, for example, when I spent a very sweaty morning vacuuming a condo after a cleaning crew could not be found at the last moment. I've also cleaned out gutters, single-handedly moved large pieces of furniture to help stage a home and, just yesterday, found myself washing windows with a client half an hour before an open house was to begin. I like to do what's necessary to make the deal happen.

Beyond real estate, my eight year old daughter connects me to the wider world of kids and other parents, schools, parks, recreational activities, secret bike paths and hiking trails.
